SUMMARY:POSTPONED World Water Day butt pick up
DESCRIPTION:Due to the increasing need for social distancing\, we are postponing this cleanup event until further notice. Please keep an eye out for continuing changes to our scheduled Events! \nHere at Surfrider\, every day is Water Day! But World Water Day is a chance for the global community to advocate for the stewardship and protection of our freshwater resources. We’ll be celebrating by roving the streets of downtown Olympia for our first Butt Pickup of 2020\, intercepting and disposing of thousands of cigarette butts before they have a chance to contaminate our waterways.  \nWe’ll meet on the steps of City Hall at noon to pass out gloves\, buckets\, and pickers (cuz those butts is nasty!). As always\, feel free to BYO-Gloves. We’ll reconvene at 1:30 p.m. to weigh our haul and pose for a photo or two. Then maybe we’ll wander over to Batdorf & Bronson for a rewarding Ocean Friendly beverage!
